I hosted with Burton Hosting for many years, and each site I've had with them eventually had to be moved to another host due to unreliability on their part.

What finally ended it was when I paid for my one year renewal and, a few days later, my site went completely offline. It was only live about four hours or so out of the day. It took them days to get back to me when I wrote them and only basic information was ever provided. I went nearly two or three weeks without site access and hearing nothing from support.

I migrated to another server and asked for a refund of my unused hosting and they simply chose to ignore my support emails. They continued to do so afterward.

I filed a chargeback and they fought it (and won, unfortunately--that's what I get for using something other than American Express for a higher risk purchase). It is interesting how they have time for me when it involves keeping money they never earned.

Features are average at best. Prices are extremely high for what they offer. Aside from this incident support was usually competent but took a while to get back to you. Matthew, in their support department, was always competent. Too bad he works for such a dishonest company.

This was a crappy way to end around a five-year relationship.

Keep away from this company.
