IPowerweb / IPower clients enduring massive problems

It seems that IPowerweb / IPower clientele are experiencing massive problems since Friday of last week. According to several Hostjury readers users of the IPowerweb / IPower service have been unable to check their e-mail since late Friday evening.

According to our sources it appears that Endurance International Group went ahead with their planned server migration without notifying any of their clients! The result is continuous problems and issues, clients unable to check their e-mail & unable to login to their web hosting accounts.

One IPowerweb / IPower user stated that technical support seems oblivious to the migration stating that the issues were a result of "Corrupt passwords" and would be handled within a few hours. Over five days later and the problems are still occurring.

We suppose the Endurance International Group name has another possible meaning. Just how long can their clientele endure problems!

Ever since the transition to the "new platform" my site is experiencing server failures several times a day. I'm only continuing with them because I'm paid for the next year in advance.

They've got a scam now where you can't get a full backup of your site, without paying extra for it. I raised Cain with a tech rep and got the old style backup added to my vdeck. Now everything is backed up, I'm not changing anything, and I'm done with them when my account comes due for renewal in March.

Website is so slow. I've contacted ipower a couple of days ago and still no response. I been with iPower for 2 years now and will move to another service soon. I've been having so many issues. Website is down quite often.

  1. My website got hacked, and in spite of complaining and reporting at many sites, the evil copy of my website still comes up in search engines. The evil site is www.tesselliott.com, and uses all my code, text, and artwork that takes you to some strange IP and puts badware on your computer. I am totally stuck not being able to send people to my site when the bad one comes up. How can I get it shut down?

  2. I have designed 100's of websites over the past 10 years and have only 2 clients hosted with ipower web.

Last week both sites were hacked

and labeled dangerous by Google. Both sites are artists portfolio websites- who would hack this type of site? Why have my other clients who are hosted by different companies not been compromised?

    Because I power suxs!

Both clients lost traffic and revenue due to ipower web lack of security. I have recommended that my clients transfer to new hosting companies. In addition to site security/hacking the passwords were changed with out notification and it took hours on the phone with tech support to get the hacking issue addressed. They are by far the worst hosting company I have ever dealt with, RUNAWAY!

Since the new platform change I had to go to the new CM4all web creator program which is poor at best, would recommend them to anyone. It wouldn't reconnize my existing pages so I had to start my pages over again.

  3. why can't Ipower just get their acts right?

  4. Well, I have emailed IPOWER through my hotmail account ( support@ipower-inc.com ) and got a very prompt reply from a certain Michael saying that from their side everything was working well. I have checked through other people and have confirmed that indeed the problem lies not with IPOWER but my own broadband service supplier ! For some strange reason I can not access IPOWER or my website on it yet I can through other broadband operators in Egypt as well as through dial up services.

    Phew !

Lesson to me... don't jump to conclusions !

Thank you IPOWER for replying quickly.

  5. As of yesterday, 26th July 2008, our website is down, we have no access to emails and we can not access the IPOWER websites.

We are a resort hotel in Sinai, Egypt and, unless this problem is resolved pretty soon, we are in deep trouble !

Oy. And here I thought it was just me.

I have had massive problems with the two sites I manage at iPower. Prior to the migration to vDeck I generally could get issues solved. Now it is hopeless.

Yesterday a tech droid actually started arguing with me on the phone when I asked him to transfer me to a senior tech. Excuse me? I believe I am the customer here.

Thanks for this forum-- I will be moving ASAP. I will also follow up with the consumer complaints drill.

They charged my credit card without my authorization with an increase in price. I have had accounts with them for 6 years. I wish I had in writing their 'apology' for not having notified me via e-mail like they have in the past. I now have this action in dispute with my credit card company.

    Brad,

Glad to hear that, I'd still have to highly recommend moving though -- or at the very least, keep frequent backups!

  6. Not sure if anyone else is checking the comments on this blog post, but I wanted to check back in and say that my web site and email are now back up.

  7. Well, I found their support # through a cached Google search page and called. When I called, a message said it's an issue affecting all AT&T customers, which answers my questions.

The funny thing is, they say to check their web site for updates, but I can't access it! It's like something out of a Dilbert cartoon.

  8. I've had some problems with iPower in the past, but recent experiences were okay: their customer service was good, and they took care of things quickly. My email went down this morning (7/20/08) and has yet to come back.

Even stranger, iPower's own web site is down!

Reading some of the comments here, I'm getting concerned because I run my freelance writing business through the domain I host at iPower, so I can't lose email for an extended period of time.

Has anyone been able to get through to iPower's own web site? Thanks.

  9. Sites and email seem to be going intermitently off and on again and customer service intermitently not avaialble again as my businesses emails have not faithfully functioned this summer of 2008.

Yesterday, 07July 16, 2008, POP email failed as it has unexpectedly for weeks.

The official notice in my V3 web management tools read "E-mail issues have been resolved yet my companies' emails were non functional.

"Last night at approx. 11:30PM in California their Chat Customer Service message box responded "Please try again later".

My multiple domains were moved to V-Deck-3 six months ago but problems just do not seem to stop.

    Email still down.

A message on live chat for tech support states:

"Thank you for contacting support. If you are calling to report that you are unable to access your Web site or e-mail, this is a situation that we're aware of. Our engineers are currently working on the issue to resolve it as soon as possible. We know how important the Web site and e-mail services are for our customers and we deeply regret this inconvenience."

Our family's accounts hosted by IPower and Start Logic were both down for awhile. My email is still not back up.
